New Member Assimilation
Membership at Lamb of God is not the finish line; it’s the start of a journey with fellow believers. The assimilation process at Lamb of God is meant to integrate the new member into the community of believers already here, building relationships and friendships, and helping them continue in their walk with Christ.
The process of learning and growing in the faith that began with Faith 101 and Faith 102 continues with three more classes that form the theological foundation of our walk together.
- Faith 103: Discovering your SHAPE helps people discover how their God-given strengths, heart, abilities, personality types and experiences shape them for ministry.
- Faith 104: Discovering the Bible provides an overview of the Bible, tracing the story of salvation from the moment of creation to our arrival in heaven.
- Faith 105: Discovering Your Life in Christ introduces members to the basic spiritual disciplines (witness, worship, prayer, fellowship, Bible study, service and giving) and how they open the door to spiritual growth.
In addition to these studies, our Director of Assimilation follows up with each new member throughout the first year of their membership, helping them to make connections with other believers here and find their niche in the body of Christ. You can contact our Director of Assimilation, Emily Ellis at eellis@log.org.
Finally, each new member is assigned an elder, who helps provide spiritual care. Elders maintain regular contact with their members, praying for them, visiting them when they are sick or in the hospital, helping them to continue growing in their faith.
